NYC pedicab passenger claims menacing driver pictured in The Post sexually harassed her while he was ‘beyond drunk’ – New York Post

Lydia Rivera recounted a distressing experience with a pedicab driver in New York City, who was later identified as the same person featured in a New York Post story about the industry’s growing misconduct. On June 25, while dining outside the Galaxy Diner, Rivera was harassed by a drunk pedicab driver who made unwanted advances towards her. The situation escalated until two women intervened, demanding an apology from the driver. Despite the driver’s aggressive behavior, he eventually apologized and left. Rivera later recognized the driver in a New York Post photo from October 2022, where he was being detained by police for driving while intoxicated. This experience reaffirmed her decision to avoid pedicabs. The NYPD has since increased enforcement efforts, resulting in over 100 pedicabs being seized this year.
