Simone Weichselbaum from the New York Daily News attempts to ride a pedicab through New York City with the goal of making $100 for charity. She finds the experience challenging, likening it to pedaling a truck through traffic while dealing with speeding cars and other cyclists. She only manages to pick up one fare—a woman and her daughter—for a short ride, earning $20. Despite trying to attract more customers, she struggles to get business throughout the day. Simone gains a newfound respect for pedicab drivers, realizing the physical effort, business skills, and alertness required to do the job safely. She concludes that it’s much harder than it looks and decides she won’t try it again.
